I posted this on my personal journal, but thought you all might enjoy it.

Here is a story of how our company justifiably lost $100K, because we were a little overzealous.

(my coworker) says:
I was doing a web search on mode strippers, which are fiber optic devices. A few days later I got hauled into Ethics for it.

(my coworker) says:
Imagine their suprise when they found out what they were

(my coworker) says:
They locked my email, net access, etc. for about a week because of it

(my coworker) says:
too funny

(my coworker) says:
Then the program manager got in trouble because I was late on my report

(my coworker) says:
then the director had to explain to the president why I was late on a contract delivery and lost an award fee because of it

HAHA

(my coworker) says:
A simple $100K loss of money becouse of her error

So who took the hit on that one? The HR person who brought you in on ethics issues? You? Management? Director? Or was it the person in charge of security and big brother where you work?

*please tell me hr pretty please??!!*

Well, I work for a medical company, and when we do adwords, we always have to get exceptions on words like 'stretcher' and 'restraint.' Actually, on lots of medical terms. O.o

I used to handle petroleum, electrical, and refrigeration fittings. In addition to the above:
nipples - short lengths of pipe
butt splices - mends two wires into one
glans - a circular collar for the "shaft" in an auto lift
grease packing - prelubricated rotating parts

Hell, even the explanations sound inappropriate.
