Keyboard/Seat failure

User on laptop, away from office:

"Outlook's not coming up, when I'm not connected to the internet."

After several attempts to have user try various Menu items, I figured
out she's in IE and using webmail. Had her fire up Outlook and she was
amazed that it had the same messages and they stayed there when not
connected.

D'oh!

So glad I make 4-5 times less than these people. It's obvious the big bucks causes brain damage.

And this means what? I'm supporting a luser too stupid to know the difference between web mail in IE and using an email client. A luser who makes a hell of a lot more money than me. It's these same type of user who call me up, wanting to know what task number to enter into the travel reimbursement form. The same fucking ding-bats who call up wanting to know how to move files from one open window to another! I remoted in and the luser was amazed when I clicked and dragged a file from one window to another. Fucking amazing these people can even manage to feed themselves in the morning. But you are right. I should study the network OSI model. It'll help bring down my blood pressure. The thing is, I like the flickering stars and hearing the bells that show up when I'm on the edge of stroking out. That's why I do tech support!

ok. 1) calm down :)
2) always remember. it doesnt matter how stupid someone is. as long as he makes everyone else think he is IMPORTANT, they will make the big bucks. be glad youre clever and still get at least a BIT money.
