"Hey Sam, do you know how I can save this attachment to disk? It's saying I don't have enough space."

"Sure. Let's see... it's 870k. There should be room there... Hmmm... You're saving it to your floppy, huh? Is it empty?"

"Yeah. I just emptied it."

"Hrm.... Lemme see the disk..... Uh.... This is a 720k floppy. They haven't made these in 15 years."

"Is that bad?"

"...... Just use this one, ok? And throw that thing away."

"Well, we like to recycle around here."

"And I like to stay sane. Throw it away, _please_."

"Ok."

You just burn a hole through one corner of it to get it to work at 1200 or so for memory :) although been a LONG time since I used one of those.

this is where you run a "test" on the disk to see why it isn't holding enough, and determine that the disk won't spin-up on one side. So you'll take it back to you work shop, fix it up there, and bring it back here.

Then give little Cindy-Lou-User a pat on the head, and something to drink, and send them back to their work.

I've got a stack of 1kb 8-inch floppy disks that I hand out to people as awards.

I yoosta use those to copy fonts into a Mergenthaler type-galley machine. And paper tape for the commands.

I'll make it work! Somewhere in the attic back home there's a floppy disk punch that'll get it working... along with my 5.25" and the old show and tell 8" disk...
