Allow me to thank you most sincerely for your call tonight. You see, I'd been having a rough night and was much in need of the laugh you gave me. I know you made me promise not to laugh, but I did it anyway the moment you hung up.

You see, not many people have the chutzpah to call up and complain that they're no longer allowed to access match.com on the company VPN. Even fewer would actually request that I escalate a case to the Level 2 desk at Application Support because of this.

I understand that, as you said, you were able to access match.com even just this morning. Despite this, I still believe that it is indeed a possibility that just today they blocked that website. Given the error message you read off to me several times, I think it's a pretty clear case.

I further was highly amused by the wailing saxophone romantic jazz playing in the background for the entire duration of your call. Beyond being a simple embodiment of the lonely executive woman stereotype, that is the crowning touch which changes this from a story into a legend.

Please take my thanks as representative of the feelings of my entire desk. They got a good hearty chuckle out of it too.

I wish I had realised before I hung up that I could have looked up the phone number for the other rep who called me last week about match.com. It just occurred to me that both of you may be bisexual or lesbian. Who knows? Maybe I can get a sideline dating service going. Maybe more people would call me up with kudos then.
