how many of you have had a call come in requested the telephone number for a competitor? Who could honestly expect someone to jump up and hand out the number for direct competition? And the caller I just had has never had an account with us.

Actually, I would be happy to. Somebody as dumb as the person asking for our competitor's phone number is likely going to be nothing but a burden on us and helping them to be a burden to them is likely going to COST them more money than they are going to make them in profit. I'll be happy to hold the door for them so it doesn't hit them in the ass on the way out :).

i am more than happy to give out the phone number of a competitor. but then, i don't have much faith in the company i work for.
