(This is a follow up of sorts to this post...)

As I also dabble in playing Sparkey (My generic term for anyone who fiddles with Mains grade electricity), I was interested in how that display went off.

I eventually stumbled upon This site which explains a few things. ( and there is more video too!)

If i ever get my own house and enough money to cover the expense of putting such a display up, it might be fun.

I like the fact that a old, slow machine can easily handle the demands of running such a display... ::snicker::

Yeah, those scoreboards you see in the tourist areas with all the animation and fireworks and motion and color? Once upon a time, I am not making this up, they were run from Atari 130XEs. They had a hard time, once those weren't available anymore, finding anything that worked as well for anywhere near the price.
