A user called to place a hardware call as he could not eject the floppy disk from the drive ...

This is the response we got from the attending technician.

"The reason that a floppy could not be ejected form the floppy drive is because there was not one in there in the first place.tested FDD & it worked perfectly. User cannot remember what he has done with floppy disk."

This is where one bills the user for an unwarranted service.

I once earned 90$ just to take a buss to a client and close one program on a desktop. The program had locked up and the server beeped with "unable to unlock lock file!" .

Sometimes it was fun being a consultant back then.

I encountered that very problem before, 12 years back when I used to sell PCs at Radio Shack.
