Nov. 8th, 2005 11:48 pmI wasn't the one who took the call, but at the campus computer help desk that I work for, a student actually called in and asked if we knew if his class was cancelled for the next day.
I've gotten some pretty stupid questions, but I believe that one takes not only the cake, but half the bakery.

"Hi, I checked on the internet but I can't find the number for the university hotel." OK, let's transfer them to tech support!
"The internet was down yesterday so I couldn't register for classes online and missed my registration time slot. What do I do?" I know, let's punt this call to tech support!
And of course we get the call and have to transfer them somewhere else or back to the switchboard. Ugh.
Transfering Calls without Thinking

You would be suprised how many people call our number and tell us their problem even after we told them a few times their talking to the wrong people.
