From a log I saw today ->

Fault or Error on printer : "Help me I'm covered in toner"

The user had opened the toner cartridge and spilled it all over herself and the machine.

Heh. Reminds me of before I was in tech, when I was just a plain old luser. I phoned support because our printer was printing really streaky. Not like fading out in places, but like globs of extra toner streaking the pages.

The tech, probably misunderstanding what the issue was, told me to remove and shake the toner cartridge. I was like, "Uh, really?" and I think I tried to explain more, because my instinct was that this would not be a good thing. But he was insistent upon me shaking the thing.

Against my better judgement, I did so. Turned out the cartridge was broken or something and toner went EVERYWHERE. It got all over my hands and arms and clothes. Grr, was I pissed.

But did you promptly go to the bathroom and wash up with hot water? I'd highly suggest that. Scalding even.

I suspect once people follow those directions, there'll be a surge in popularity of toner "tattoos".

I was installing a printer once and didn't realize the toner cartridge had cracked in shipping.

Nothing printed when I ran a test page, so I pulled the cartridge back out.... and that's when it decided to split wide open. I was enveloped in a black cloud.

Not fun at all.
