Problem:
cascaded 24port KVM
1) Port 1-20 connected to Server
2) Port 21-23 connected to other 24port KVMs which have direct attached servers
3) Port 24 connected to an 12 port KVM on which 12 other 24port KVMs are connected on which only servers are directly connected.
--------
When working on the Master-KVM directly, every of the 370 servers is reachable.
when connecting to the Master-KVM via Remote-Console, you can also connect to every single server but on a few of them, only the mouse works, on a few others only the keyboard and on a few of them everything works.

the problem spreads on 1), 2) and 3) (see above) and it cant be closed down to that only on 3) keyboard wont work and on 2) only mouse wont work. NO, the problems are spread ALL over.

After a while, Mouse via Remote-Console fails TOTALY but therefor suddenly Keyboard works on ALL servers.
Still, when working on the master-KVM locally, EVERYTHING works perfect. keyboard, video, mouse. on all servers.
When you shutdown one of the servers via Remote-Console, the link is suddenly down and you cant reconnect to the remote-console. you can only switch to an running-server on the master-kvm locally, then you also can reconnect to Remote-Console

Firmware-Versions are on ALL switches up2date and cabling is (due to the fact it works via Master-KVM locally) also OK.

That's one monster of a KVM setup. Switching between computers must be fuuuun.

Geez, why not use SSH or terminal services/remote desktop rather than such an expensive KVM switching setup?

Do some tree-balancing, maybe. That's a very lopsided structure...

Try troubleshooting by bypassing the root-level KVM when you experience problems on (2) and (3), plugging the components straight into the 2nd one, and seeing if the problem persists.

Only idea I can come up with.
