Do you know how to tie shoes?
Sep. 13th, 2005 08:38 amA woman complained to me that she could not access files left behind by someone who used to work in her department. I explained as the woman no longer worked in this building, she was no longer a user on our server, which is why logging in as her was going to get her no where.
She knew for SIX months that this woman would be leaving. She tried to log in as her ONE WEEK AFTER she left.
Since I knew the documents were still stored in the server, I retrieved them and burned them to a cd for her.
I handed her the cd and rather than a thank you, or a sigh of relief or anything similar, she looked alarmed. Because she had no idea what to do with it.
