Aug. 30th, 2005 09:15 amArgh! My queue in our phone tree is labeled E-mail, Remote Access, and Blackberry.
C: I can't get to the ABC site. Other people in my office can't either.
Me: Are you in the office or using VPN?
C: In the office.
Me: So you're not having any trouble with e-mail or remote access?
C: Well, it's remote access. It's a web page.
Me: (explains difference) So what's the address of the website you are having trouble reaching?
C: xxxxx.xxxxx.navy.mil
Me: So, it's not even one of our company websites. It's the Navy's. And everyone in your office can reach other websites, but get a TCP error trying to reach this one.
C: Right.
Me: Might I suggest you call the Navy?
Next call, summarized:
Client had trouble connecting to VPN last night at home.
Client is now at work.
Server shows it is out of sync with the token card.
Client does not have token card with her, left it at home.
