Dear DBWSC,
When you call asking for help with ASP code and I ask you what your level of experience is, DON'T lie to me. When I hear you say "I'm a java programmer, ASP is a bit new to me.", I'm going to go into speaking-to-a-colleague-who-knows-the-concepts-but-not-the-object-model mode, not talking-to-an-end-user-who-thinks-HTML-is-a-programming-language mode.
I will use terms like:
...and maybe:
You told you needed sample code, So I showed you our documentation. The very same documentation that shows a drop-in function so you don't really need to understand what's going on with the underlying objects -- just call the function.
If I've confused you and you never once asked me a queestion, tough. I took you at your word.
Oh, by the way -- rep surfing's only going to get you more of the same.
Regards,
Really Annoyed Rep
