Is this par for the course, paywise, in Phoenix?

Doesn't look like I could afford to move back...

Fortunately, I'm not entry-level, but in checking jobs there, seems to be about right. Guess I'll just keep checking craigslist.org.

Correct.

For someone of my experience (~10 years in the field, Ex-CCNA and someone who's worked on jsut about everything) I'm currently getting around ~15.50 hourly. I could probably get 16 if I really pressed though.

Having just spent half a week in Phoenix, I don't think I could take the (dry, whatever) heat.

Though my mother would be thrilled.

If it hadn't been for this nasty upsurge in real estate/housing prices in Central CT, the cost of living had been somewhat comparable to Phoenix, but the wages are certainly different.

For 3-4 years experience, it's not uncommon to get $50K here ... on the other hand, I've been stalked by consulting firms trying to convince me I can easily make $35K working in NYC. Go figure.

$12/hr for all that? Feh. That's half of what I make.
