And I love the excuses about why they can't type/reboot/unplug.
"I'm 50 years old. They never gave us typing in school." (And how do you normally use your computer?)
"I can only type with one hand, because I'm holding the phone with the other" (Ok, set the phone down)
"I can't turn off my computer, I don't have one. All I have is a big modem and a tv." (I'm soooo tempted to say "then why are you calling into computer support?")
"Unplug it? But I'd have to get down on the floor!" (One of my fellow techs says to these folks "Yeah, I get 90 year old women on their knees down there. If they can do it, you can do it.")

i just give them the line that if they want it to work then this is what going to happen. if they dont play, it no work (im usually nicer than that but it sums up nicely)
