"Tell me exactly what the error messages says" does not mean "paraphrase the error, please"
Therefore "My password doesn't work" is not an accepted answer.

That is all... for now

I don't know what it is today... people are not *listening*

When I say "Where it says password, type in summer1. Do not press enter, press tab, then put in your new password." that is *exactly* what I mean.

Also, when I ask you to press and hold the power button on the computer, it does not mean press ctrl+alt+del and choose "log off."

*sigh*

Yes, I love those calls. I say, "how can I help you?" and they say, "There's this thing on my screen - should I click Yes or No?" "Well, what is it asking you?" "Oh, something about a server."

Let me pull out my magic eight ball for you.

After eight years, I've had some luck with "Could you read the message off the screen to me, please." Slight emphasis on the bolded words.

I swear, getting information out of callers is all about the tone of voice. Mostly, it's the one used for small children or talking suicides down off window ledges.

"Never stumble, stall or stutter,
Never mumble, never mutter.
Reassure - the voice to use
Is like presenters of the News.

Keep it calm and keep it smooth
In the face of calls uncouth
The call control is yours, it's true
Remember always - they called you."
