cust: How do you go to 192.168.1.1. with the internet Explorer?

me: Open Internet Explorer and type 192.168.1.1 in the address bar.

That's not bad.

After reformatting the home computer, I'd just set about:blank as the homepage, instead of the usual portal.

My mother tried to get online, and just sat there...after about 5 minutes she called me wondered what was wrong with the net. Then I had to explain her the concept of url's...

I get this way too often. I'm thinking why in the hell do you have a computer if you can't understand a simple concept like 'address bar' or 'url'.

I mean, I could probably write a whole rant about it, it's so rediculious. These people get pissed when their 50 dollar service doesn't work, but they don't even use it to do anything but check their mail with Outlook Express.

i can understand not knowing URL, but not knowing where to type the "web page address" just amazes me. Honestly, have they *never* gone to a web page before? IF they haven't, why is it such a big deal now?
