Does anyone else have a help desk manager that is barely able to check the voice mail, much less operate his computer?

My manager rocks. The general helpdesk manager...is lucky he isn't fried by his computer every morning.

Our team lead knows more about the 10+ proprietary apps we support than anyone. We refer all our higher questions to her, and she either spouts the answer at you immediately, or gets on the phone to the people who wrote the stuff and asks them.

Her boss (the help desk manager) knows how to hit 'send' in Outlook -- on a good day. It doesn't keep him, however, from continually typing out the entire email text in the subject line and leaving the body totally blank.

Any particular reason WHY he's not being fried by his computer? It certainly sounds easy enough to arrange... just telling him that his email will die unless he sticks a fork in the power supply would probably do it.

Our call center manager never worked a day in her life on the phone in Tech support!

GAH!

She even sat in on a training class (possibly side jacked) and said, "Wow I give you a lot of credit dealing with these people!"
