Oh wow.....

So I go into the office today and one of the *users* is having some trouble with his voice dictation software. I go in and he's repeatedly clicking the left mouse button on the menu button for this software. My first words were, "STOP! Let it load. Notice how the screen keeps flashing? It's trying to load and you keep closing it." He just stared at the screen dumbfounded.

What is with *users* these days? If it doesn't happen instantly, is it not fast enough? I mean, his computer isn't slow, by any means. I mean, he's got this Webshots crap on it, which I've tried to get him to remove. I thought he was going to break the mouse, he was hammering on that left mouse button. His words were, "I've had to use the task manager to end the program before, it's slow, it's locked up, it's down, I can't work....." Yes...he's used all of those in one sentence before.

And now for something completely different

Over here, if we (The IT department) didn't put it on, it can be removed without notice. And it's logged in the work ticket. Even if it's something useful, like firefox (which I've been known to let slide because they are at least *trying*). People that turn into "problem" sites lose their machine for a week. Plus it's in the polciy handbook somehwere...

In fact, I have a machine on my desk right now that has spyware, and suspected porn on it. No, I'm not sharing the porn, just noting it's existance, along with the time that it was put on there.

I don't really have time to take care of real pets anyway

Hey the hamster's name is Pig, thats original-ish...

Its the whole being home long enough to feed them and pay attention to them and clean up after them and take them for walks... I tried with Pig but the leash didn't fit so well

When my dad was a kid, his family had three cats, Blackie, Whitey, and Yelley-Whitey. Guess what colors they were.

I just love it when they fight me over it and try to wrest control of the mouse away when I'm in the process of removing it.

Nevermind that by that time I've already grabbed quite a few screenshots. They could have just taken the easy way out, "What? I don't know how that got there." But nooo...Webshots is just that important. Yet these are the same people who will bitch and moan that their desktops are completely locked down when refresh time comes. "Gosh, Bob, remember how you fought me over removing Weather Bug? Well, it's all your damned fault. You had to go and have that rectal-cranial inversion...see what happens?"
