BWAHAHAHA.

new client Win98, just ordered dsl for her office. setting her up and found out she had a previous call in with no NIC in her machine. Ok. Says she went out and found a USB to Ethernet adapter. (not supported, but if you install it and its working properly more power to you), All lights look good on the modem. Checking her network stack to verify she has the drivers set in there. Looking, Looking. motorola. sweet it saw it.... Surfboard.
*headdesk*
Client had the setup, dsl bridge, (ethernet) Cablemodem (USB)computer.

Client will go buy a NIC

Sounds like she had no clue that the surfboard was a cable modem. it had ethernet, it had USB, so it must be a usb to ethernet converter.

holy mother of god that user needs to have the PC taken away. It was too stupid for me to comprehendd the set up.
