My Life in Hell.

Between personal tech issues (stupid wireless equipment from the same venduh that apparently does not want to talk), moving my house (never fun), and work, I'm pretty much in Hell.
Work started for me this morning with my cel phone. It's a rather annoying person at one of the offices complaining that email is not working. I already know something is up, because I could not get in via the web interface this morning before my shower. Fortunately, it's someone else's problem, so I farmed it off to him to deal with. then I get the panic stricken email from people say OMG! I need publisher installed ASAP or people will DIE!!11!! priority email. ::shakes head:: I used to have people trained better, I must be getting lazy in my old age.
Right now I have a machine sitting on the bench behind me from of of my more entertaining sites. The machine has no where NEAR the stuff I remember putting on it. This is a problem, because it means that some cowboy is poaching on my turf. And since it's windows 98, I have no real security to deal with the perps. I'd love to toss XP on the machine, but it's a about 384 MB shy on memory and 400 Mhz shy on processor. The Anti virus is NAV 5 point fucking oh, and it looks like it was never updated EVAR!!.
So I'm expecting a virus on the machine at the least. (not sure, at least nothing in startup) Oh yeah, IE 5.0 and probably no updates beyond the inital install. they ain't getting this one back until tomorrow at least. ::headdesk::
Neat trick: Outlook Express 6 is installed, but Internet Exploiter is still at 5.0. That's a neat trick if I ever saw one.
AND my security patch disk (which has all the IE updates until Feb 2004 on it) is sitting at home. Nice.
At least I get to read snow crash and eat lunch while I'm waiting for the updates to install..
I need a beer. Badly.
