It just takes one thing ...
Mar. 20th, 2005 08:59 pm... on one of those horribly busy and understaffed Sunday nights. I'm filling the Lead Tech job, and one of the reps comes past in a fit of giggles.
Apparently one of our customers misheard that he was located on a node, and has decided that he's on a gnome.
And that the gnome is stealing his data.
So all the gnome jokes have started around the centre.
"He's obviously a gnome user."
"Has he got the correct gnome address?"
"I'm sorry, those services are only available for a business account. You have a gnome account."
I offered that one must study at the London School of Econo-Gnome-ics (thanks David Bowie), and I'm afraid the rest of the night is going to be like this. But hey, you had to be here.
And the customer? We heard from him gnome more.

its a win-win situation, in my mind ;)
