Can someone tell me just exactly when...
Nov. 14th, 2004 12:54 am... "Sob story" got added to the list of skills I have that determines which calls get routed to me?
in one Friday evening, pretty much all in a row, I got: exhibit a) this poor woman who's been treated _SO RUDELY_ by techs at The Company Which Must Not Be Named, none of whom could figure out how to transfer files from her non-TCWMNBN system (let's call it a "Pomcaq") running Windows ME to her brand-new, XPSP2-endowed system, which IS our company's. I finally gave up on the networking in the face of "I'm not going to pay blah on top of blahgity-blah", and badgered her until she figured out how to find files for burning to CD (I don't know how she thought using a network was going to keep her from having to find them otherwise....
Exhibit B) Who had a problem a year ago when she took the system out of the box three months after purchase, was refused a system exchange for software, had bullied us into sending out a motherboard for a DSL connection issue to avoid a Windows reinstall, tore us up one side and down the other for making her spend her time troubleshooting instead of just replacing it since there aren't any rules and no reason for them anyway if they aren't making HER happy, threatening us with editorials, complaints to the BBB, and legal action, and finally brought up her breast cancer. Even my boss caved when her little boy whined "Mommy, please don't die!". She got a new system.
Exhibit C) clearly deserved a new system because we'd replaced his hdd and his DVDROM recently, and things still weren't perfect. It couldn't have been a software issue because he used to work for Micro$oft. I got to tell him to try a repair install. Aaaah, finally some bliss.

I've also used the wizard to move profiles around too, which rocks the casbah.
