Well, I thought it was a myth. I really did. Until I was hurredly getting ready for work this morning.

I swear to god, my computer was playing "It's a Small World."

The plus side, it lulled my daughter back to sleep momentarily. On the down side, it means my fan's about to croak.

No lie. http://support.microsoft.com/?kbid=261186

I remember seeing that article. I don't even have a PC speaker so I'd never be able to hear that :(

LOL I remember when I was working at IBM a customer called and said there computer was doing that. We didn't believe him and made him send it in to us! When it got there he was telling the truth and we were all very, very confused.

Heh. Never saw that. Usually, though, I replaced fans that were almost to the failing point, as they were making enough noise to wake the dead.

hahaha! A design tech with a sense of humor--how lovable.

This story increased my respect for Microsoft.

Ahh, but it was NOT microsoft, it was a bios design tech with Award ...

Microsoft merely notes (and cross-references) it since they probably field a surprinsing number of questions on it ...
