Sounds like it should have read . . .

We got a new computer to replace an old one however it's not an outright replacement currently. Meaning that people are going to be using both the old computer and the new computer for a period of time until we're confident enough that the new one has everything we need and can see clear to disposing of the old machine.

We would like an additional network jack so both machines can used at once.

Did I get it right? If so is there a prize involved? :-)

excellent translation. I wonder if whoever wrote that communicates with everyone like that, or maybe thought they'd be impressing some techies with some jargon.

Maybe, "Our OLD computer was really big but this one is really little so we're nervous?"

I think George (or his brother) worked with me. And he was a /tech/. He started on the help desk and got /moved off of it/. Because yes, one should get a promotion when one can't keep their butt in the damn chair!

I used to reply to his emails with things like 'Can you say that again in English?'
