Customer calls in, bitches and complains up the ass about him not receiving his e-mail since about midnight. He says that by this time he should have at least 100 pieces of e-mail, mostly spam. I send him a test e-mail from our mail servers, I show it gets received, and seconds later it's gone. I ask him if he has his e-mail client setup to constantly check the e-mail server. He says he doesn't. I ask him if his e-mail client is setup to leave a copy of messages on the server, he says it doesn't. I check our mail logs and sure as shit, at least 5 times a minute EVERY minute since midnight. I check the IP Address of the host that checked the inbox and I ask him what his IP Address is. They match. I inform the customer of this and he swears he hasn't received a single message since about 7pm yesterday evening. I advised him to check any other computers that may have an e-mail client configured to verify that he hasn't downloaded the messages there. The client, VERY reluctantly (and after several harsh words) complied.
The dumbass has checked his e-mail a thousand times in the past 7 hours and its my fault. Then when I PROVE that he's at fault, he gets pissy. Oh well, have fun finding your spam sir, cuz it ain't on the server. Kthxbye.
