Just got a call from the Annoying Anointed One in our Marketing department; apparently our Senior VP and Chief Administrative Officer... the guy who's the last word on every budget in every department in the whole company... who accesses accounting systems via oh I dunno, eight or nine different software packages and remote desktop logins and God only knows how many IE7-only web sites... wants us to order him a Mac laptop.

Pray for me. Fear for me. Cry for me.

I'm somewhat tempted to fix it so it boots straight into XP Pro. Really, really am.

No seriously, I am sorry. I'm not really a tech person - only do the family to the best of my abilities - I come here more to sympathise and learn how not to wind the IT support at work up.

Last week at work we got a server upgrade and it decided to play some silly jokes with my Excel. I could manage with it, but when our very sweet IT guy came in today to sort out some other stuff, he told me he'd work on my problem over the weekend.

I didn't mean to cause you grief and never expected it to be done when you should have been relaxing. If you'd asked if I could live with it a bit longer, I'd have happily complied because you're nice. You never give us grief when we ask dumb ass questions. I hope it takes 10 minutes at the max and we don't trouble you for ages.
