E-mail from the web team, informing us of some planned downtime:


System: [List of intranet apps]
Date/time: [blah]
Reason: Webserver-4 died during the night, and all intranet apps need to be migrated to Webserver-5.

At approx. 3 this morning, Webserver-4 bluescreened and we've been unable to restart web services. We need to migrate applications to Webserver-5 so that users can continue to use the applications while we resolve the problem. As for the cause, it has yet to be identified but Webserver-4 is currently helping the police with their enquiries.



Web team makes me laugh.
