So somehow my FIL got hip on system state restore. I have no idea who told him about it, but it's not a bad idea for them, really. They do some crazy stuff to that poor computer, and that system state restore has come in quite nicely when they've done one silly thing too many. And it's saved me from having to explain what happened, why it happened, and reprimands.
"No! Bad Dad! Bad Bad Dad!"
He doesn't like IE7. And of course, Windows Update is going to keep insisting that it be installed when the updates are done so he just tells it not to install it. Well this time the compy did an update, and installed IE7. He wanted it off, so he just whipped out ye ole system state restore and kicked it off.
In the middle of the restore it froze. Apparently they're used to the thing freezing, and so he just powered it off..in the middle of the restore. :)
And then my phone rang..
