jecookHmmm... I suppose I should give "MAD PR0PZ" to the skript kiddie fucktards who managed to run universe out of resources last night and panic it. I'd rather give them several rounds of 7.62 x 54r to the brainpan instead.
Looks like another named upgrade needs to be applied.
At least they didn't blow my uptime record of 560 days. That was me doing a drive maintenance about two weeks ago. killing a 16 day uptime is not quite as painful.

Oh the Joy... First Vista ticket

Someone has apparenlty gone and installed either a beta or pirated version of Vista on their work computer. Now they are whining to me that they can't log into the domain. To top it off, they aren't even one of the ones that we get along with and are (less un)happy to help in odd situations.
God, but I need a strong whiskey & coke, a few full mags, and a Happy Place...
(and did I mention that this is my "Monday"?)

so to quickly summarize, our purchasers had the dell rep specifically tell them what they needed for a dual monitor computer setup.
when things arrive the cards wouldn't fit into the pc's without risers, which weren't included
when the risers arrived they weren't pci express, and the cards are pci express
when the pci express risers arrive i find out that the computer doesn't support pci express video cards to start out with.
so now this unit is about 3 weeks behind in completing a move of the department because of this fiasco. YAY!
before giving this bit of news to our purchasing people i asked them to both sit down, remove any objects from their hands, and place their hands out flat on the desks where i could see them.
after delivering the news one purchaser asked "... so... when can i move my hands... " i said " as soon as i step out of the room!"
i dont think she threw anything, but i knew she wanted to :)
