Office Move/Iron Man IT

Got to work Friday: 8am
Took: 30 minute lunch break
Left the office: 11:30pm
Dinner break: No
Coffee: Gallons

15.5 hours, no dinner, on my feat, have nasty blisters. But the T1's are up, internet/internal routers are on the rack, Baytech is up. Just have to get the internal network up today and install new Switches) and bring up the servers. Oh yeah and it's 6am.

It's times like this I get a chuckle thinking of people in the office who say "I want your salary". They are out having a good time, while I'm in a small phone closet, hot, little lighting, holding a Cisco 7200 series router with one hand and a power drill in the other trying to mount it on a rack.

BAD THINGS:

ice storm in April!!! [I'm in upstate ny]

power outage at home - power outage at office

gnaps.net was under denial of service attack today affecting all of their routers, and disrupting East Coast internet traffic badly. We had to route around them again to make our network visable.

GOOD THINGS:
