So today I'm setting up virtual users to connect via Netmeeting for some training we're having in our California office. For those of us in the office, we can connect via LAN by typing in the host pc name. However for virtual users, you have to type in the IP address since the name won't resolve. I know this because I have to do the same if I want to connect to servers at work from my home pc on cable.
Well I sent an email out to all the other techs in the country giving them a head's up and my boss came back saying I was incorrect and what was I basing this on they have virtual users connecting all the time with no problems. Well I was mad because I know I was right (and had proved it). Well all of a sudden other techs in other offices in North America started replying on top of my email that I was right and they were having the same issue. Part of me just sits back and smiles, the other half wants to say "Boo-Ya" to my boss in nice big font!!! Dont' you love it when you're right and the boss is wrong.
