Oh lord, now I've seen entries where they want "entry-level" people to know everything, including the kitchen sink, but this is ridiculous. This is another example where companies want people to be able to do a zillion things at their disposal, but only compensate them with peanuts.

What cracks me up is that they put all the IT-relevant skills in the requirements section, but they don't include all the HVAC, Security, electrician requirements either? I mean, do they want to let their waranties void out, or get their asses slammed by OHSA? :)

On the other hand, maybe that's why I'm being turned away from jobs :P *grabs an electricians manual, and an AC/Heating Maintenance guide*

Seen something similar..

I've seen similar.. my local paper had an ad for an IT support guy / caretaker. They expected someone to do IT duties and all caretaking maintanance duties as well. Some people just have no clue. If there's an justice in the world they'll end up hiring some seventy year old caretaker who, when told there's a virus going around, will dunk all the PCs and servers in disinfectant.

Hell, I've had people at work demand that I go over to their house to fix their computer for free, even though it had nothing to do with the company. Too bad I couldn't wear this (http://www.thinkgeek.com/tshirts/frustrations/388b/) at work :)

I once worked for a small company that initially told me my position was to design their website. (yeah it was a .com in 1999)

When they found out that their receptionist was stealing from the tin, they told me I HAD to answer calls from then on. Not hard, so I said okay. After that when they started to get orders for the product (a bunch of legal documents) they told me to assemble and ship those too.. I put my foot down and said no, I can't do everything in the entire company on my own (too much to do). They eventually got me an assistant muahahahahahaha!

I've moved on to better pastures since then..
