When you make a new version of something, reducing the functionality so as to "add" functionality does not work. Seriously I should not need to download an addon to get my status bar back permanently instead of whenever you think I should see it. I like seeing "Done" or "waiting for www.slow-web-site.com".

Additionally, quit moving the buttons. Just cause M$ does it doesn't mean you should too. Some of us have more than one monitor and chucking frequently used buttons to the other end of the screen does aggravate me. While I know the keyboard commands for these actions and was able to move them back it was one more annoyance.

Ah, Firefox 4.

Glad I held off updating my primary house machine and the work beast- the movie machine's none too happy with it. :(

Amen on moving the damn buttons. What the justification for that was, I cannot begin to imagine. I don't miss the status bar though.

Wait until you find the next bit of joy - it seems to regularly default back to it's default layout. Added extra buttons? Removed ones you don't move? Moved some to fir with the workflow you were used to?

I seem to rebuild the layout on a weekly basis - usually after it decides it needs 1GB of RAM to run 5-tabs.

Seriously with the reorganizing all the damn buttons. It's like a plague MS started (or at least headlined) with deciding that not one single damn button in Office should be recogniseable for 2007. I'm still annoyed by that.

It's been four years, now. About time to start wondering what horrible clusterfuck they're going to perpetrate upon us next so as to obsolete the "new" docx/xlsx formats and give people a reason to pay yet again for the same functionality we've had with every previous release.

Oh, believe me, I don't use Office 07 except as mandated by work.

For personal use, it's FF3.6 as well for me, and Office 2000.

The Cult of Apple also drives me crazy, but for different reasons entirely.

Yeah. I mean, Chrome's AdBlock does a decent job of blocking ads, but I just really like how the FF version does it.

The only reason I upgraded was because my Flash player took a crap on me. All sites using Flash would not work properly. Silverlight may have been affected too. Reinstalling the affect software suites didnt work and it was sad that my IE6 was still working more reliably with sites like youtube or streaming movies with Netflix. Installing FF4 at least dealt with the problem.

IE6, yeah I'm behind on updates but with XP 64bit after my reinstall a few months back. I don't reboot for months straight so auto updates fall behind.

Heh. The status bar thing *is* majorly annoying...and even with the add-on, it blends unto the bottom of the page as the bar no longer has a proper border line. Still--for seeing the target URL for links, I'd *far* rather have the bar than those stupid bubbles.

Here's a rule I think should be in place for...pretty much everything: If you're going to change your look and feel, make sure to put up a theme/skin/whatever with the look from the *previous* version. I rather dislike the FF4 button designs (not so bothered by placement, as I had them all re-arranged in the first place to give me more space by combining the menu and button bars, and unlike some other people I didn't have a problem with that transitioning properly), but fortunately someone had already put up a FF3 button theme by the time I upgraded.

I hate tabbed browsing, but the Firefox team decided to move the "open in new tab" to the the first choice position in the file and right click contextual menus.
