Oh, team chat, the things you find....

Actual conversation in team chat:

HER: user saying she keeps getting harassment calls from an ex employee and wants to know what she can do
what do i tell her?

ME: call the police

HER: lol. i know

ME: pay someone to start your car in the morning
or invest in a mirror on a stick

HIM: see what HR says

ME: what state is she in? do they have conceal and carry laws there?

HIM:even though they're an ex-employee it's a risk for the company so they should be able to tell her something
police may be a good idea too, depending on the level of harassment

HER: she'll contact HR
thanks

"call cops, and speak to HR"... why is she speaking to tech support over harrassment stuff?

Maybe she wanted to know if the phones had the ability to block certain numbers, or switch her number? I deal with a lot of customers who want to block harassing phone calls. Most of the time we refer them to the police if it's serious and ongoing, after changing their numbers. But anything with an ex-employee should really be handled by HR/the police first, and documented properly.

Clearly, because with computer boxes, we have access to missiles and such.
I bet that's it.
