Which thing is worse: When you've got a steady stream of calls BUT none ever shows up on your indicator; each call rings through JUST as the previous one hangs up so your queue box always shows 0 0 0 0 but you're still always on a call... or just always having like, five to eight calls in the queue holding for up 2, 3, 4 minutes?

Mine's the first thing. I can't fricking STAND IT. It makes me CRAZY. I think I'm gonna get a minute to breathe but NOOO, here's another boob who can't type the word "password" into a little box.... GYAHHH!!

I'm okay now. Really. ::pant pant::

What phone-queue timeout do you have between calls to finish off tickets? I've seen everything from five minutes to thirty seconds to no timeout at all.

The first one's the worst, particularly if it comes in conjunction with a string of calls where you're queued up 2,3,4 deep, and you finally think you're at the bottom and you check the queue and there's 0 in waiting as you come off notes and then BLAM, you hit the button and all of a sudden there's a call.

FFFFFFFUUUUUUUUUU. >_o

The worst I get is when everybody decides to call at the same time. There's no queue, just voicemail, and I'm the only support tech. (Nobody counts my call time or anything. All that matters is that I help people out. I love my employers, don't always love the customers.) For some reason there are periods when everyone decides to call at 4 pm, or at a quarter to 5.

Because their password is, of course, 'password' .. right? :p

Well, incoming calls end to end without a break is definitely a bit demoralizing in and of itself, and when you're blind to what's in the queue (or, worse, getting reassuring info that's in fact *wrong*), it's even worse.

Had that happen for a month or two when management put me in a new queue that was my actual new specialty, but forgot to take me out of about 4 other ones that I should have been taken out of. It took me a while to get used to the sound of being in "available" again after that. ;)
