Last week I was given a project by a client. To move a folder across his servers. It seemed simple enough, and I seriously questioned "wtf? Why doesn't 'client' do it himself?"

Move 'backup' folder from server A to duplicate server B across town through a vpn. He wants the most common replica done every Saturday at 7pm with insanely detailed reports. I wish there was an automated way of doing this, but I don't know how.

I'm a bit new to all of this, so it took me a few tries untill I had a friend (who is only available on Saturday) help my last night. After 2 slow hours, we set up a network drive and enter in a command for the file transfer, and error: no space on Server B.

I called him up, and he tells me to then drop it on Server C. When I try to, I can't log in, and neither can he through Admin.

He then tells me "I can't give you access now, I have company over." and I can hear a sports game in the background.

It just kinda angered me. The one moment when I get the ball rollng, this guy always stops it with "I'm kinda busy with 'life' at the moment, please leave a message and I'll bitch at you later for not getting your job done."

As the others have noted, take notes.

It is obvious, that from his point of view, it's not that a high priority, otherwise he would have helped you get it completed.
meh. His loss, really.

It's times like this is why my VoIP switch now records every call I make or receive.
