Considered this *so* many times. (Thoughts of riffing on "decorations forming resonant structures at 2.4 GHz causing absorption of WiFi signals" come to mind too. :)
I once convinced a guy that solar flares were affecting his ADSL, and that the only thing we could do to fix it was wait for the solar storm to die down and quit bombarding the ionosphere with as many ions.
it helped there was actually a solar storm happening at that moment, and there were articles I could direct him to.
Hilariously, the problem resolved itself mostly once the storm died down, but correlation is not causation, even in part.
