Until a couple of years ago, we had a couple of digital cameras that could be loaned out to teachers for trips etc. Geography broke one, Construction broke the other, and they've never been replaced because both departments refused to let the cost come out of their budgets. IT (not to be confused with us in ICT Support) and Media have their own cameras which they're welcome to lend out if they want to, then when things get broken they can fight it out between themselves. This is reasonably common knowledge throughout the school.

Today, the same teacher came to us FOUR TIMES asking to borrow our digital cameras. Each time, we patiently explained that we don't have them, but IT / Media may be able to lend them one. Each time she left apparently happy with things only to return a couple of hours later and ask again. And with Open Evening (aka lets fool the local parents into thinking we're a good school to send their little angels to next September) on Thursday, things will only get worse.

This is NOT a good week to be having asthma issues on top of everything else.

Lock up the cameras, or someone will "borrow" one and "forget to ask."

I worry for the students of this teacher who thinks doing the same thing four times in a row will yield different results.
