Caller: I keep hitting the Print Screen button and NOTHING IS COMING OUT OF MY PRINTER!

*I hear her banging on her keyboard in the background*

*sigh*

Things that are amusing...

Print Screen used to do exactly that :)

I was going to say . . . :)

Of course, it hasn't done that since 3.11, I don't think, so this customer must be way behind.

It was back in the days of MS-DOS... Oh, 10 years or so ago?

Well, that was exactly what it did. Hit 'prtscrn', and tada, the printer spits out an image of your screen at that moment. But like I said, that function's been gone for almost a decade. Now it just copies a screen-cap to the clipboard.

It used to do that on earlier versions of the Mac OS also, as I recall..

Not that I'm trying to defend a customer. Because they are all idiots :)

My question is why was it ever changed? Print Screen should do just that in my opinion.

Why does MS change anything that works? Because they can, so you upgrade thinking it's better, then end up having to pay more money to upgrade again, because instead of being better, it's . . . not.
