techrecovery | I'm not sure what long distance is..

I thought this was so damned stupid, so I thought I would share.

Today I get a call from a lady saying that she was informed that using the Internet wouldn't put any long distance charges on her phone bill. I tell her it's not supposed to, and start to explain the porno/dialup/international thing, and then I ask her to call her phone company to find out where the long distance is to. It's to us. She SAYS that the area she's calling into isn't long distance, so I say, if in fact you can call Swanton for a local call, you shouldn't be getting any LD charges to us. She swears up and down that Swanton (Ohio) is local. Yeah, right. So she gets pissed because she said she was told she could choose anyone of our dialups and it would not be long distance to her. UHHH NO!!! I tell her, you were supposed to choose the one that is a local call, and in fact not long distance for you. So she starts pissing her panties, telling me that she will go to a reputable company that will tell people how everything works.

The whole time I wanted to ask her.. don't you know the difference between dialing a LOCAL and a LONG DISTANCE call? That's really not our responsibility to teach you common sense.

The funny thing was that she was on a prepaid package and would NOT be getting a refund by cancelling.. hahaha.
