New equipment rollout brings out the ignorance in people.

Our sales manager got her new laptop about 2 weeks ago. She called me yesterday at my desk saying she couldn't send/receive email in the office. I went to her desk and she had an error message saying she didn't have enough space. Background: We have all our users download their mail from the exchange server to a .pst file on their pc (because everyone has to keep everything). A few weeks ago her .pst file became so corrupt it was receiving crc errors on it and the only way to repair was to create a new file, and manually copy the mail from the old one to the new one. I changed her settings to read her mail from the server so she could still work while cleaning up her pc. Anyway, each mailbox on the server has about 100mb of space on it. She was getting out of space messages from her box on the server! I tried to explain what was happening but she didn't get it, and proceeded to get angrier and started to yell at me saying "what kind of crap is this new laptop. It is suppose to have more space and now I don't have as much??" Finally after getting yelled at for about 5 minutes, then proceeding to draw out what was happening and why, she was like "oh..ok..can you fix it?" Yep..click of a button and her mail was downloading to her pc just fine.

That's right, brand new computers are supposed to be magic and take care of every problem you've ever had with computers, right;) They don't have any problems at all, unless you count the operator error problem!
