I love my Thursday afternoon shift.
Oct. 4th, 2007 06:00 pm*Sigh* It's a fortunate thing, I only deal with this level of idiocy anymore from 4-8pm on Thursdays. How I do love "It's after hours go away unless you have a 24-hour contract, no sorry you do not have a 24-hour contract" support!
Fuego: "Thank you for calling *company* do you have an open ticket?"
Moron: "No."
Fuego: "Okay, do you have a serial number for the unit in question?"
Moron: "No."
Fuego: "Do you know what model it is?"
Moron: "No."
Fuego: "Are you anywhere near the unit?"
Moron: "No. I need cable pin-out schematics for some cable that attaches to this thing."
(Where said cable could literally be any one of um...fifty or sixty different cables, at least half of them are bizarre proprietary things.)

Date: 2007-10-04 11:28 pm (UTC)Eh, he *claimed* to be the guy that's been around there forever- I know, means nothing, or he could have been the janitor forever. I referred him to the integrator's manual which has pinouts for almost every single existing cable. Now sparky just needs to figure out what cable it is he needs pinouts for...
