The REASON that it would be taken as an insult is that Hutts consider all other beings in the galaxy to be lesser creatures.

Of course, your customer may have said it in an attempt to insult you without knowing WHY it was an insult to Jabba...In which case, your customer is stupid and should be mocked.

Yeah, there's that whole not-single and he lives in California wile I'm in Washington issue. And we're both guys... while I'm not saying it's impossible he's gay, there's just too many obstacles to work out.
