The "My IP is 127.0.0.1, go ahead and hack me" line is much much older than computers.

There's a fairy tale about a child who's playing by herself when a goblin child comes down the chimney and wants to play too. When the goblin asks the human what her name is, she replies "Me Ainsel".

Later on, the goblin child gets scalded when the girl spills some hot water on him. At his screams the girl hides, just in time for the goblin mother to fly down the chimney.

"Who did this? Who has hurt you my child? I'll kill them for it!" she demands.
"Me Ainsel," replies the goblin.
"Well, if you did this to your own self, you have only yourself to blame," she answers, grabs him by the ear and yanks him back up the chimney, never to be seen again.

The End.


Honestly, if people can't learn from fairy tales, then they're simply not educable.
