One of the other techs at work had to get some warranty work on an IBM computer. Called up the Tech line at IBM and said, "Hi I have a Netvista with XXXXXXXX serial number, and I'd like to get warranty service on it." The lady on the other end looked up the serial number and started asking why he was calling it was under warranty. They spent 10 minutes arguing, he trying to request warranty service, her telling him that it was under warranty and didn't require it ....

Finally she transferred him to another attendant, who got the RMA needed in about 5 seconds. When did we start letting HR hire people like this?

The sad thing is that for every one of those idiots who gets hired, there's at least one or two compitent tech people who were likely passed over for the job.

True. Sadly, more and more the criteria for getting hired seems to be "Won't argue with our retarded policies".

If it was a netvista odds are for level1 support it reached the illustrious Atlanta 2 call center. Or, as we came to know it, "Atlanta Screw". The place is an utter hellhole with people recieving no training and with the wages they pay they can't get anyone even slightly decent. Yes, I am talking under $10 an hour in most cases. The decent techs are slowly being fired and layed off so that the cheaper techs can take over.
