Why would I want to hid all windows, find the icon, click on it?
Never used icons on the desktop, not MacOS 7 or 8, OS/2, Win3.1-XP, The X Window System, NeXT, Mac OS X. Heck, I've used gui's that didn't support them (the WMX window manager) and not missed them.
