Has anyone else seen this? This article made me smile. All I can say is I hope it's a sign of a trend starting for the tech industry. You know... all of us not getting laid off all the damn time.
Yeah I read about that. And I can believe it. One of my company's tech support offices is in the south, and all the employees there have pretty strong accents. Not slured, but still very southern. On the other hand their all very polite.. I get more customers calling and complaining about how they can't understand what the people in that office are saying.. I never get it.. I talk to them all the time and have never had a problem understanding anything they say..
And if thats the complaint we get from one person in the us calling another person in the us I can't the complaints if they had to talk to someone with a forein accent.
Nothing is worse than calling somewhere for support and not being able to understand them. They're supposed to help you, you shouldn't have to struggle to understand them. I think that might have something to do with why there are so many call centers in Arizona, we have that total lack of accent, well that and it's a non-union state.
