i just got off the fone to a brain donor.

he called me 5 minutes ago, i told him to recover his machine (an OEM Ghost-like reinstall of windows).

he called back just now, i said "have you done the recovery?" he says "yes."

guys seriously, did he expect me to believe he had effectively reinstalled windows in under 5 minutes?

i say this to him (less than politely...this guy is an absolute bald monkey) and he says "how do i do it?" (i'd explained it to him 3 times in the previous call). He was basically saying "yes" to everything i asked him without knowing what i was asking or what i wanted.

"have you reinstalled the network driver and updated the BIOS?" "yes"
"how did you get into the BIOS?" "yes"
"what is they type and model number of your machine?" "yes"
"were you dropped on your head repeatedly at an early age?" "yes"

some people need a license to even operate a pocket calculator, let alone a computer...

ps. our machines are shipped with not only a user manual, but a service and troubleshooting guide, which is so effective even i sometimes refer to it for hints if im stuck on a problem...i told him the instructions to do everything he needed were in these books. he said "but i'm a new user". "thats what the books are for, new users" "so what do i do now?" "RTFM" "and then what do i do?"

felt like saying "STFU and FO you Fing PEBKAC"...

*draw circle. bang head here.*
