I don't know what is more frustrating.


Talking to someone who is getting all click happy and clicking stuff you didn't tell them to click OR having to LISTEN to a someone who is getting all click happy and clicking stuff you didn't tell them to click talking to your rep who is getting frustrated and isn't doing a very good job of explaining anything to begin with.

I made a similar gripe a bit back. I have actually USED the line someone responded with since then...

"OH MY GOD! What did you click on?!"

User manipulation is a very important part of our job. Like when I have someone switch the crashed computer off w/o a shutdown sequence.

Me: "It's okay, any damage that might occur from a sudden power-off would alread have happened from the total system freeze."

Them: "Are you sure? I've always been told never to just shut off the computer."

Me: "It will be okay just this one time. I take full responsibility, and if there is any trouble, I will be happy to intercede with the World Computer Science Council on your behalf."

yeah ... just as bad are the frickin' readers who insist on reading everything on teh page to you as if it's a matter of dire importance.
